Experience and Credentials

My work draws on a varied professional background spanning clinical social work, psychotherapy, teaching, professional coaching, writing, and group facilitation.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I bring almost two decades of experience helping people navigate emotional challenges, understand themselves more deeply, and find new ways forward. I've also coached fellow therapists, taught adult learners, facilitated groups, and developed educational experiences that bring together practical knowledge, personal insight, and experiential learning. My approach reflects both my clinical training and my long-standing interest in the many ways people learn, grow, and change.

Across these different settings, my focus remains the same: creating meaningful opportunities for learning, discovery, and growth.

What Colleagues Say

“Allison was running a coaching program and providing support for a group of therapists for six weeks. We immediately hit it off. She was extremely warm, friendly, and put me right at ease. We easily bonded that day, and I was sorry when the group was over because it was such a meaningful experience having her weekly for support and guidance.”

Jill M. Ott, LMHC, NCC, BC-TMH

“Allison was a coach for me for several months. Her insight, expertise, and knowledge were so helpful to me. All of those things allowed me to be more open to possibilities, solutions, and growth. She is such an encouraging, warm, and kind soul to work with which really encourages you to reach for your own best self.”

Colleen Recker, LCSW, LSCSW

“Allison actually listened to me.... She ... brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her coaching program integrating a biopsychosocial-spiritual approach to her teaching and training. Allison's ability for empathy and support, her level of expertise and energy are healing above and beyond if you are ... considering mentorship. I highly recommend her.”

Kathleen Levy, LCSW

“Working with Allison was like working with an old friend. She loves helping people reach their greatest potential. It is embedded in her soul as well has her spirit. She took great pride in counseling the students at Transitional Work Corporation. She was extremely focused and all her efforts were clearly for the greater good of the students. It is my honor to recommend Allison, for she will be dedicated in any position where she is doing her life’s work!”

DeJaniera B. Little, MBA, MS

“Allison is very dedicated & committed Instructor. From the time I hired her until the time our school closed, I could always rely on Allison to follow all directives and put forth the best effort possible. She was a great role model for staff, faculty & students. In a very short time under my purview, Allison was nominated and named Instructor of the Month. Also to her tribute, was the fact that she had more than one student in her class awarded "Student of the Month".

I was very proud to have Allison on my team, and I am sure she will be an asset to any future employer.”

Sonny Leeper, former Manager and Director of Education, DPT Business School

“I would like to recommend my esteemed colleague Allison Brunner. Allison was able to give advice as a professional Social Worker and Psychotherapist while teaching ESL students at DPT Business School.

While serving a under represented population Allison was very cooperative and open to making suggestions that would provide solutions that achieved successful results.

Every moment that I had the pleasure of working with Allison made every day much easier to see through challenges that needed to be addressed.”
