My Story

Growing up, I wept for those who hurt and got drunk on others’ joy. Highly sensitive, I was swept away in peoples’ emotions and pummeled by the intensity of my own. Debilitating anxiety and depression haunted me at nearly every turn.

I devoted a decade-and-a-half to deep inner work through somatic psychotherapy. I released trauma, learned to find safety in my body and in my environment, and to regulate my nervous system.

Chronic illnesses and inexplicable mystical experiences led me to seek counsel from a shamanic guide to whom I began to apprentice and learned to heal my body and other people’s and channel higher guidance. Now I weave the ancient wisdom and practices of these indigenous people, some of the world’s first psychologists, with the therapy modalities in which I’ve trained for many years.

During the eight years I was too sick to socialize, my sensitivity matured into a gift that served me and now others. I wandered and sat among trees, beside lakes and the ocean, watched birds, and talked to to plants.

From loneliness and seclusion, I learned to communicate with the Earth, Sun, Wind, Waters, Moon, and more, and received counsel and love like I’d never known. In return, I now guide others to reconnect to that which is powerful, sacred, and divine within Heaven and Earth and, most of all, within themselves.

“Allison actually listened to me…. She … brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her coaching program integrating a bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach to her teaching and training…. Allison’s ability for empathy and support, her level of expertise and energy are healing above and beyond. If you are an old soul considering mentorship, I highly recommend Allison Brunner."

  • Imagine Someone Rooting for You

“I found Allison online after trying therapy in my home town and feeling judged and misunderstood. The way I was perceiving life was changing rapidly and felt a little scary. Allison explained … that I'd had a spiritual awakening. In just three sessions, she helped me realize that my experiences were cause for celebration rather than fear! She also shared some skills for using my empathic abilities to help myself and others instead of feeling overwhelmed by people."
